Tony Edwards is the Chief Investment Officer and an Executive Director of Atrium Investment Management. Tony joined Atrium in 2012 and has over 20 years’ experience in financial markets. Prior to joining Atrium, Tony spent over six years at Queensland Investment Corporation (QIC), where he was a Senior Portfolio Manager with responsibility for the Core Australian Equities Fund and the Concentrated Australian Large Caps Fund during his tenure. Tony’s experience prior to this includes domestic and international equity research roles covering a diverse range of industries with Colonial First State Global Asset Management, BT Funds Management and Merrill Lynch.
Brendan has over 20 years’ experience in global financial markets investing across asset classes. Most recently, Brendan spent 4 years at MST Capital a Multi-Strategy Macro Discretionary Hedge Fund. During this time, he managed global investments across Credit, Equities and Foreign Exchange. Prior to this Brendan spent 6 years at UBS as part of the Fundamental Investment Group, a Sydney based team investing as a multi-strategy hedge fund in the Australian market. Here he managed a portfolio focused on Credit and Convertible bonds with a mandate that stretched across the capital structure. At the conclusion of his time at UBS, Brendan’s responsibilities extended to risk management for the entire Fundamental Investment Group. Brendan began his career with 3 years at Ferox Capital a global convertible bond fund manager based in London.
Glen has over 18 years’ experience in financial markets, predominantly in strategic positions. Glen spent seven years as a multi-asset portfolio manager at Perpetual Investments where he was responsible for running multi-asset funds as well as strategic and tactical asset allocation, trading, risk budgeting, and quantitative modelling. Glen also managed quantitative and smart beta strategies in the areas of developed and emerging market equities, REITs and commodities. Prior to this Glen was a quantitative analyst in the Australian equities team for over two years where he worked on alpha signal research, risk modelling and optimisation. Before Perpetual, Glen was at AMP Capital Investors and Willis Towers Watson (then Watson Wyatt).
Bill Prendergast has over 24 years’ investment experience, most recently at QBE Insurance, where he spent almost 6 years as a Senior Portfolio Manager, including 2 years in New York where he established QBE’s investment management capability in the Americas. Prior to QBE, he was employed at Queensland Investment Corporation (QIC) as a Senior Portfolio Manager in the Global Fixed Income team with a focus on inflation, interest rate, and credit derivative markets. This role followed 7 years in Tokyo with AXA Investment Managers, the majority of which was as a Senior Portfolio Manager in the Yen markets. This was preceded by a number of years with AXA in Melbourne in various investment-related roles. Bill is a CFA designation.
Chris has over 30 years’ experience in financial markets focusing on listed Australian equities. Prior to joining Atrium Chris was a Director and Portfolio Manager at Discovery Asset Management. His responsibilities included portfolio management and investment analysis of a range of companies across the Resources, Energy and Industrials sectors as well as the funds’ trading activities. Prior to this Chris spent seven years at Queensland Investment Corporation (QIC) as a financial analyst and dealer and over 18 years in Sydney working at domestic and international investment banks. His roles included running sales and trading desks for Citibank, Macquarie Bank and Deutsche Bank.
David has over 16 years’ experience in global financial markets across all major asset classes. Prior to joining Atrium as a Portfolio Manager, David constructed bespoke portfolio solutions for clients as a Portfolio Manager with Select Investment Partners. Additionally, he was involved in investment strategy and manager research with overall responsibility across three core sectors. David has a Bachelor of Economics, a Graduate Diploma in Applied Finance (FINSIA) and is a CFA Charterholder.
Howard has worked in the financial services industry for over 8 years. Prior to joining Atrium, Howard worked at QBE insurance as a Senior FX Dealer managing the currency trading, FX risk management & reporting of daily FX Exposures. Howard has had over 2 years’ experience with Ellerston Capital as an Investment Analyst where he was responsible for the execution of trades, daily portfolio analysis & research on global macroeconomic themes, and over 3 years as an analyst at Russell Investments where he performed actuarial valuations, analysis & reporting of various superannuation funds.
Aditya graduated from UNSW in 2020 and has over 3 years in the financial services industry. Prior to joining Atrium, Aditya worked at Cbus as an Investment Analyst in the graduate program. During this time, he undertook rotations in Asset Allocation and Private Markets (Property and Infrastructure). At university, Aditya had internships in institutions such as Commonwealth Bank of Australia in the STIR trading desk and equity research at boutique investment banks and corporate advisory firms. Aditya also gained experience in the funds management industry through his role as an Investment Analyst at UNSW’s inter-varsity hedge fund, primarily looking at financial and real estate stocks on the ASX 300.
Tony is the co-founder and CEO of Jacobi Strategies, a San Francisco based fintech company focused on asset allocation and risk modelling technology for multi-asset funds. Prior to Jacobi, Tony was the Chief Strategist at QIC, based in Australia, where he was responsible for the investment strategy and portfolio construction of over $45 bn of client assets. Tony has over 16 years’ experience in financial services, focusing predominantly on multi-asset class investing. Tony has also previously held senior roles in portfolio management and quantitative analysis at both QIC and QTC and holds a PhD in Applied Mathematics.
John is a highly regarded and skilled property specialist with extensive international real estate experience. He has around 35 years’ experience across a number of property disciplines, including funds management, leasing, property development, and property finance advisory. John was an Executive Director at Macquarie Bank for 14 years, heading the Development Capital division, and managing the wholesale funds management business responsible for opportunistic property investments on behalf of institutional clients. Most recently he was a principal in the expansion of a Melbourne based development management group’s expansion into NSW. He has also held roles and JLL, Grocon and a Sydney based architectural firm.
Daniel joined Atrium in 2023 and prior to that spent 7 years in research roles at Fitzpatricks. Daniel has over 25 years’ experience in the financial services industry in various analyst and portfolio management roles in Australia and overseas. Daniel has experience in portfolio management of Australian equities and fund manager research across various asset classes. He has also worked in risk management, compliance and operations in a number of asset classes.
David Dix has worked across the investment management industry and investment markets for 25 years. Prior to joining Atrium, David spent 12 years at AMP Capital Investors, most recently as the Senior Investment Specialist for the Multi Asset Group. Prior to this, David worked in debt capital markets in the UK for Deutsche Bank, Merrill Lynch and Chase Manhattan (now JPMorgan). David has extensive expertise in the funds management industry and has developed a range of market leading investment solutions for the institutional and retail marketplace in Australia and overseas.
Sarah has worked in the financial industry for over 20 years. Prior to joining Atrium, Sarah spent 7 years working for JPMorgan in both the Broker Payables department and the Legal Documentation team, where she worked closely with the brokers and was responsible for issuing legal documents for all executed trades. Sarah also spent time with Colonial, UBS and the Trust Company in various investment roles. Sarah began her career working for 6 years with Irish Life Assurance Company in Dublin, working in a specialised broker team as a Senior Administrator.
